Happy Saturday ✨

Today is the PERFECT weather day in Toronto in my humble opinion 😂

Breezy sweater weather where I can open my windows, curl up with a cozy witch book, a cup of chamomile lavender tea, cuddle the doggo & Buffy the Vampire Slayer on in the background! A cinnamon/clove/pumpkin scented candle is lit as well because my place needs to smell like autumn all the time!

Looking forward to reading more of Rewitched which has been on my tbr for a while and also going to see the new Resident Evil movie with the hubs!
If you know me you know Resident Evil 2 is my favourite game of all time so I run to anything Resident Evil related!

⚠️ How are you spending your weekend? What are you reading or watching? What are you looking forward to?

I was supposed to do a full re read but 2026 has just been so busy! So thankful for bookish YouTubers who recap everything and also give their theories on the next book! All I was thinking about is will we get to see how freaky Az can be in this book and the rest of you came out with the most in depth predictions and deep dives! I appreciate you 😂

⚠️ Do you have any predictions for the new ACOTAR book?

What this week ✨

What I’m reading: I just finished Fantastic Land! Was it completely unbelievable and wild? Yes. Did I have a fun time? YES. I couldn’t look away and read it in one day. I’m also currently reading the little book of Halloween because I can’t get enough of learning about the history of Halloween/Samhain!

What I’m watching: Buffy the vampire slayer!

What I’m looking forward to: drives out of the city and watching the leaves change colour! Can’t wait to head up to Muskoka soon with the hubs & doggo. I’m also looking forward to football season 🏈

⚠️ What is your favourite thing about the ber months (September to December)?

⚠️ Question for the Toronto or GTA ghouls… what town in Ontario gives you all the spooky vibes or the best autumn vibes ? I’m planning my October already! (And yes I wish I could be in Edinburgh for autumn but stuck here instead 😂)

Life lately ✨

What I’m reading: after months of being in what seems like an endless reading slump I’ve found a book that is pulling me out of it! I’m currently 80% in Nocticadia and having the best time with this dark/gothic romance. I also just feel so much more in the mood to read lately and have so many holds to pick up from the library! I find I actually have the urge to read so much more as the cooler weather approaches. My fall tbr is out of control!

What I’ve been doing: spending time with friends and family, signing up for nature walks learning about the trees/plants in my area (this is what happens when you turn 35 I guess 😂), daily exercise/movement/stretching, cuddling the doggo, living in the moment and avoiding social media and my phone. I actually find this app throws my energy off (why is this place just one big ad to buy things at this point?!) and I don’t love checking it! But I love to pop in once in a while to see my fav book & spooky accounts!

What I’m looking forward to: autumn plans & enjoying my favourite season with my favourite people!

Happy (almost) Augtober! Doing this post now because I won’t actually have time this weekend!

I’m already getting fall themed cookbooks & baking books from the library to get new ideas for the coming months!!

As much as I love window shopping for autumn & Halloween decor I’m saying no to overconsumption and not really buying anything this year besides fall smelling candles which I use all year and using decor I already have and have built a connection with.

The autumn season to me is way more about that FEELING I get in the fall.

I really do come alive when autumn comes around! I feel motivated to make plans with friends & family, have movie nights, bake & cook hearty foods, go for longer walks, visit farms & corn mazes and haunted houses and it’s the one time of year my introverted self wants to soak up every moment with loved ones doing spooky things!!

It’s that nostalgic feeling of watching all the spooky & witchy movies I grew up with in the 90s and cherishing the memories of the amazing Halloweens my parents gave me growing up!

I love and appreciate every season nature gives us but nothing will come close to my love of autumn! So excited for my house to smell like all things pumpkin, clove & cinnamon soon!

To my spooky ghouls - were almost there! Hoodie season is around the corner!!!

I can’t believe how much fun I had with this book! I have been in a serious reading slump for monthsssss and I finished this book in less than 24 hours!!

Locked in is basically love island meets squid games 😂
Contestants join Locked In searching for love (and a 5 million dollar prize) but throughout the competition realize things aren’t quite what they seem.

Can I say I was Locked In from the first page???? 😂
@katelyntaylorauthor I need Season Two now!!!!

If you enjoy Love Island…. but darker run to this one 😂

In the mood for reading cozy mysteries and cozy witchy books and will be spending my afternoon reading In the Company of Witches with a cup of tea (or 5 cups)🫖

I’ve been in an extremely nostalgic mood lately and have been watching Charmed, Goosebumps & Sabrina the Teenage Witch episodes when I have the free time! (And when I’m not watching Love Island)

I can also feel myself coming alive again because I know autumn is around the corner and I’m yearning for sweater weather 😂 I can’t help it! My spooky heart craves fall!!

⚠️ What is your favourite kind of tea or coffee? by @overbookedwithsam

Saw this book at the Toronto Library and I had to pick it up! My mom & I have watched Gilmore Girls a million times together over the years - picked this up and will be spending my Sunday trying a few different recipes with my mom! (While Gilmore Girls plays in the background!)

When I was younger I used to want to open up a cozy cafe in a town just like Stars Hollow 😂

Is it almost autumn yet? 😂 🍂 🍁

Reading slumps 📚

For most of 2026 I’ve been in a reading slump (and posting slump but that is by choice… the book slump wasn’t 😂)
I’ve DNFed a bunch of books this year and the typical romance or fantasy books I’ve reached for haven’t been holding my attention.
I’ve decided to reach for a cozy mystery (I love a good cozy mystery that reminds me of fall!) and recently put a bunch of summer thrillers on hold at the library to try and bring my spark back! ✨

⚠️ What is the last book that got you out of a serious reading slump? by @overbookedwithsam

What this week ✨

What I’m reading: I’m carving out this entire Saturday afternoon to sit down and read Souls in Ruin! I’ve heard good things so I’m hoping this gets me out of my reading slump!

What I’m watching: Survivor (if you’re a survivor fan please run to my DMs so we can discuss season 50!) I’m also watching From season 4! (Why aren’t more people talking about this show?!)

What I’ve been doing: focusing on my health (physical and mental), signed up for some restorative movement/yoga classes, spending time with family and friends, morning walks with the doggo, spring cleaning! 🧼 🧹

What I’m looking forward to: Taking mom out for Thai food for Mothers Day, spending the day with her and probably watching some Gilmore Girls together!

What are you reading, watching or looking forward to?
What has brought you joy lately? ☀️

Seeing everyone’s Halfway to Halloween posts is making me SO happy! 🧡

In honour of Halfway to Halloween I’ll be reading some autumnal poems that transport me back to my favourite time in the world (Halloween in the 90s!). Karly does the most amazing job at describing that Halloween and autumn feeling! @strange_unusual_books

I’ll also be lighting a delicious clove & cinnamon candle from @sageandthistlehandmadegoods, making a chai latte with oat milk, baking a pumpkin loaf and putting on a cozy spooky movie with the hubs from our DVD collection!

Is it too early to start thinking about my doggos Halloween costume??

We’re Halfway until the best time of the year 🎃 👻
