Installing the Mouse House.
My good pal, and frequent collaborator, @minkerbayer made this amazing mouse house for a show we were both in at the Springville Museum of Art last year. After the show I adopted the lil guy. He’s been living at my shop. This weekend I finally built his permanent home. He seems to have settled in well. Mostly keeps to himself. Reading books and investigating tiny crimes.

We made a tiny gallery hoping we’d find a missing brick somewhere in London to give it a temporary home. Found a spot on Brick Lane in Shoreditch. Walter used to wear a different costume on every day of October. This year, maybe just on Halloween.,next year… who knows. That melancholy ache feels fitting for fall. Feeling sentimental tonight thinking about when each of my kiddos was small enough to wear costumes and hold my hand. Those were some good times...
But, now is full of good times too.
And, mouse’s friends are starting to show up in costumes. by @owenjohn

Lower East (sunny)Side was one year ago. On what felt like the hottest and longest day of the year in NYC, a “so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk” kind of day, Walter and I set out to do just that with a giant egg I had created for a photo shoot with @hmgphoto. It was a fun way to show him the city and meet a bunch of strangers. New York is magical. by @owenjohn

The mouse that lives in our wall recently asked for a door. I know this might seem like a classic “if you give a mouse a cookie…” situation, but this mouse doesn’t ask for much. So I obliged and made him a set of tiny custom doors. Enjoy your newfound privacy, little friend. by @owenjohn
