Losing a loved one is never easy. It leaves you constantly questioning “why did this happen?”and “why did it happen to them?”. If there is one thing that the last 2 weeks have taught me it’s that the lord truly does have a plan for everyone and that everyone is special in the hearts of their friends and family. Colbi wasn’t a friend to me, he was a brother. A brother that constantly pushed me to be a better version of myself and a brother that no matter what situation I was in, he was there for help. I wouldn’t trade the last 16 years with Colbi for anything else. The countless late nights, freestyles, “Joces”, practices, and just lazy days sitting on the couch watching Blue Mountain State. Although doing all of these things now will be different without Colbi, he’s going to always be with us, watching and laughing at us from Heaven. If there is any lesson I want people to learn from Colbi, it’s that tomorrow is never guaranteed. Live in the present and make the most out of your time on this earth with your loved ones. Do what you love and be with who you enjoy to be around. Colbi lived by this for nearly 20 years of his life and he’s going to continue to push us to live like this through small, yet meaningful signs. Happy Birthday Colbi, I love you.
