Yep. It’s a problem. And to think these panels go UNDER the car where nobody will ever see them. But……so purrrty. by @oz_e55

Intake is finally done. āœ… so happy with the way it turned out. Yes - ā€˜hot air intake’ - but you can see I have done everything possible to feed the filters cool air and protect them from thermal exposure. The beauty of this is I can pull the filters off, and put the stock panel filter and airbox lids on in about 5 minutes - and then if going to a car show or want the noise - revert back. This is the best of both worlds IMHO. Thanks to @mbnt_automotive - it all started with the 92mm adapter. šŸ™ by @oz_e55

So - fuel system is now completely overhauled. Sealed up the tank, all new sender/buckets (China), fram filter, @deatschwerks DW300s, custom bulkhead wiring through the fuel pump hat. Brand new 630cc injectors, looped fuel rail, dampener, and fuel pressure gauge. So we’ve got air sorted, fuel sorted, now to finish off the spark. āš”ļø Custom fuel pump fuse box goes in tomorrow. Get the tank back up in the car and it’s turn key. by @oz_e55

So - this was such a huge pain that I want to share it save anyone the headache. Or if I ever have to refer back@to how I did it.
I have a fabtech looped fuel rail. They put an inlet fitting at the centre of the back of the rail per SLR.
Which leaves the original inlet open. The fittings they provide to block it off do NOT work. They leak like sieve. Raw fuel straight onto the headers

Anyway - this is what you need to either BLOCK or run a fuel pressure gauge. To BLOCK you need a m14x1.5mm diesel injector cap. To run a gauge you need a m14x1.5mm ā€˜inverted seat’ ideally 30 degree taper. That seals against the rail. The fitting is m14x1.5 to an6. Then you need an6 to 1/8 NPT. 1/8 NPT to flare fitting - which gets you one half of the braided hose - and the other half side is 1/8 NPT flare to 1/8NPT m to f - and finally the gauge. by @oz_e55

dIY custome heat shield for the alternator. Apparently the long tube headers will heat the back of the alternator very quickly and then it releases its magic Genie smoke……this seems like cheap insurance if it works . by @oz_e55

Zorst is in - just waiting to weld in the V band adapters to the stock resonator. Get her through RWC and then straight pipe it to the CLS63 mufflers. Cutouts are on the cards, recommend brands that done leak or rattle please! by @oz_e55

Dual catch can setup finalised. Closed circuit, not VTA.
Was a lot of test fitting to make sure the stock air boxes would not interfere - but also wanted them to be as hidden as possible - while still being serviceable from the engine bay. Also managed to use some of the OEM hoses for that stealth appearance. by @oz_e55

Daily drives have been kicked out of the main garage while the Garage Mahal is completed. Can’t wait to finish up the intake on the e55. But for now, here is the reimagined AmG builder badge, still honouring Thomas Micklitz who put this motor together 265k ago! by @oz_e55
