So covid. Yeah, 2020/2021 was tough. My business lost 90% of it’s income, big comps got cancelled, and my motivation tanked. Sorry I was absent, I lost the spark for a while. I got used to laying on my sofa and wondering what the hell happened to my glorious life. Then I went to the World Cup in Aksaray Turkey in 2021 September with very little training, I was constantly chasing instead of leading, so the built up frustration led me to a rough landing and I cracked a vertebrae. It was the slap on the face, the wake up call, that I had to stop swimming in this anxious existence and step the hell up. How strange that flying anxiety I can handle, but life stress got the best of me. I have so many tools I have learnt during the last 2 decades to manage my emotions in the air, and I hardly used any of those to manage covid. My takaway lesson is, that whatever we are dealing with personally affects our flying completely, so to fly well, we need to practice mindfulness and mental hygenie. It is not possible to be at top performance, when one is dealing with some difficult personal issues. After Turkey I started rehab, and put some new goals out for my business and flying as well. I haven’t felt this energized since the world cup in Argentina 2019 November. I think 2022 will be a good year. It even might turn out to be a great year actually! 😃 Fingers crossed! 🙌💪

My new goatskin gloves arrived today, and it made me remember the last 4 years and hundreds of flight hours i put into this old pair. Many fabulous landscapes we flew over together, many hours we controlled wings. The rougher it got, the more we gave back to the wing, answered agression with action, and smooth air with gentle touches and a lover’s caress.
This year I have my first CCC glider, an Enzo3 and an exciting new chapter starts with the new shiny gloves. 😎🤚 My next comp is my first ever World Cup Superfinal. Hope it will be fun, wish me luck! 😄👍🙌 #basisrauch #paragliding #femalepilot #paraglidinglife #paraglidinggirls by @ozibiusz

Only 4 more days, and i am off to Colombia for some racing!
I cannot wait 😄 Now i am browsing through some of the photos on my phone from the same time last year and i found this gem 😂😂😂😂
I was driving all night to the wintercup in march and when a pilot friend asked me if i was ok driving so late, i sent him back this video from the highway. It seems i found a way to keep myself awake. 😂 by @ozibiusz

Friends are the best! I was drawn as a super stylish femme fatale with amazing hair, sexy heels, big boobs and a form fitting mini dress! So this happened last week at the Argentinian World Cup...i am still shocked i think 😂🙈 I had tons of fun on my new Enzo3 and the weather gods favored my style of flying: tricky. I finished overall 37th and first lady. Huge congrats to 3rd Shauin Kao and 2nd Marcella Uchoa (not present on the photo)! As an instructor one of my first questions is always: “Tell me your anxieties and fears in flight, your strenghts and weaknesses.” I can always tell how mature the pilot is from the answer. Only by analyzing our physical and mental reactions in certain situations can we locate the areas that need improvement the most. Dishonesty or machoism makes us stuck (in the best case scenario) or get us hurt (in the worst). Be honest and analytical, find the edge of your comfort zone then gently push it. To improve means living the very best versions of our lives, not just in sport. To be brave does not mean to be fearless: it actually means the opposite to me. To understand my fears and overtake them by methodical training one at a time. Do i have fears? Oh yeah plenty, but i do not let them control me or my choices. Why I love comp flying is because it gives me a different perspective:
In my safe city life, my lifespan seems long and my biggest stress comes from logistics at my work.

When I am in the sky, I always realize that all tangible goods can be replaced, all my work troubles are minuscule, but if I get hurt, no money in the world will replace a broken vertebra or the loss of my lifestyle.
I realize that neither my life nor my loved ones’ are guaranteed to last forever. I am always grateful that all my current troubles are typical first world problems: chasing money, small worries, but no existential crisis or no health issues in my immediate family.
My life is truly blessed. I am so grateful for all the people in my life who make it special: my family and friends with wings or without. You give it true depth and meaning.

The 16th Paragliding World Championship ended a week ago. In short, it was awesome, extremely challenging physically and mentally. We flew 10 valid tasks in Krusevo, Macedonia.

Out of 150 participants, 134 arrived with CCC wings, and only 16 of us came with a less performing END. All together combined we flew around the world 3 times. In average a task was 2.5 hours for the winner, circa 100 km. The speed was insane, normally 100 pilots arrived within the first 10 minutes.
I flew my personal bests, once arriving in goal as 28th. My overall ranking was 76th after 10 tasks, 6th woman, first serial glider. I believe I pushed out the max of my Zeno, that was possible 😊

I spent 7 months in Bali some years ago. I haven’t been back in 7 years. I recognised the smells and noises of the forest, the shape of the trees. All else was different, a new world. Bali has been modernised, rebuilt and become a modern holiday island. We were flying from Slovenia to Italy and back over the magical Soca Valley at the first competition of this season in Europe. Deep down between the ridges there is no landing option, just the fast torrent that grabs you and pulls you under if you end up in the water. Finding a climb there was exhilirating and also mesmerizingly beautiful.
