It’s amazing to achieve this after this season. Proud of my judo, proud of throwing, proud of my hard work and proud of my patience.

Straight from the GS in Budapest, I traveled to the OTC in Bratislava 🇸🇰
Going as the only Dutch athlete was a conscious choice—I know how much I gain from these intensive camps. I didn’t waste any time and was back on the tatami Monday, focusing on the specific points I mapped out with my coach. Grateful for the company and the support that made this trip both productive and fun 🙃 taken in Bratislava, Slovakia by @p.sweers

The Budapest Grand Slam is behind me. I’m proud to have won my first match, but gutted to lose the second. I fought with everything I had, but it just didn’t come together on Sunday. This was my final shot at qualifying for the World Championships, and it’s a hard pill to swallow knowing I missed it. It’s a tough lesson, but one I need to keep growing and moving forward. My time will come; for now, it’s back to work, step by step. 👣📈

Vorige week heb ik deelgenomen aan het OTC Papendal 🇳🇱, wat een uitstekende voorbereiding was op de Grand Slam in Lausanne volgende week!

Ik ben ontzettend dankbaar voor de donaties die zijn gedaan! Ondanks dat het OTC in Nederland was, heb ik ook hier de kosten zelf moeten dragen. Mede dankzij jullie steun kan ik mijn doelen blijven najagen en me verder ontwikkelen als judoka. Heel erg bedankt! 🙏🏼 taken in Papendal by @p.sweers

Vandaag is een dag die ik nooit zal vergeten🎓
Vandaag heb ik officieel mijn diploma in ontvangst mogen nemen en mag ik mezelf verpleegkundige noemen.

Als ik terugkijk op de afgelopen jaren, voel ik vooral trots, dankbaarheid en verwondering. Verwondering over hoeveel ik heb meegemaakt, hoeveel ik heb geleerd en hoeveel ik ben gegroeid. Mijn route was allesbehalve vanzelfsprekend. Er waren uitdagingen, tegenslagen en momenten waarop ik aan mezelf twijfelde, maar juist daardoor ben ik niet alleen gegroeid als verpleegkundige, maar vooral als mens. Ook de combinatie met de topsport heeft mij veel geleerd.

Van een onzeker meisje dat geen hulp durfde te vragen, naar iemand die haar grenzen kent, verantwoordelijkheid neemt en vol vertrouwen de volgende stap durft te zetten. Ik heb geleerd dat groeien niet altijd volgens de geplande route gaat. Soms moet je een andere weg inslaan om uiteindelijk precies uit te komen waar je hoort te zijn.

Ik ben ontzettend dankbaar dat ik dit bijzondere moment vandaag mocht delen met mensen die altijd achter mij hebben gestaan. Jullie steun, vertrouwen en liefde hebben meer betekend dan woorden kunnen zeggen. ❤️

Dit diploma voelt niet als het einde, maar juist als het begin van een nieuw hoofdstuk. Op naar het afronden van mijn HBO-opleiding, verder groeien en blijven werken aan mijn dromen – als verpleegkundige én als judoka 🥂

Mijn pad was misschien niet standaard, maar het is wel míjn pad. En juist daardoor ben ik geworden wie ik vandaag ben.
