I have struggled to write a song I can be proud of for years.

Nothing was ever good enough, clever enough. I would show it to people and immediately see through their feigned interest (even when it wasn't feigned). But something happened the day this poem flew onto paper. My very own little jeux d'esprit. Sometimes when an experience is so powerful, you suddenly find a part of you that you never knew was there, and the rest happens on its own.

"Soft" had a couple of different lives before this band of infinitely talented women were involved. Evelina on the synth, Alana on the flute, and that night Ipek was killing it on the drums, and out of a simple little jam, my firstborn found her sound. I thank the universe every day that I got it on my voice recorder. And that I am lucky enough to be in a band with people I can completely trust to make my ideas better and adorn them perfectly. As they say, "If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room".
