Transforming the house was an incredible journey that took over 2 years. It’s exciting to see the before and afters. Starting from the back of the house you can see how our Gardner Kyle Washam made the yard so lush. The art nouveau themed porch requested by John and created by @studio.west.design and @archbuildersnola is absolutely stunning. How to finish it inside and out was the tricky part for me.
I tracked down these recycled plastic rugs in the yard for a party and they turned out to be a great temporary solution that made the space feel cozy.
On the inside of the veranda I went with a minimal and surrealistic mcm theme that complimented the interesting shapes of the wood work. The Calder inspired Mobile, and hanging lamp, give a sense of lightness.
As we move inside, you can see where we worked with the existing Archway and kitchen counters. We added floating shelves, and the blue and white oval cement tile. I had a planter wall created out of johns collection of glass purses.

More soon to come.
