Life has been interesting in the Foye household so far in 2024… Wednesday was just a normal day living my best dad life at home hanging out with my 4 year old when my arm began to change color and then swell. Rushed to the ER with Courtney reaching out to all of her work family (working in the operating room gives her good friends for days like this) I was rushed through the ER by her amazing friends getting the best treatment one could hope for. Turns out I was born with weird anatomy and have THORACIC OUTLET SYNDROME which is where my collar bone and my rib don’t leave enough space for my veins causing the blood to slow and clot. I was rushed to the Cath Lab to break up the clot. A catheter was placed so medication could be pumped in. I spent the next 24hrs in the ICU while hooked up to all sorts of pumps to push in the medicine. IT WORKED, it’s now clear!
I will be returning to the hospital Monday to have part of my rib removed so this won’t happen again. Thankful for our amazing Alaskan family for stepping up and taking care of our family for me, we are truly blessed and y’all know who you are… thank you from the bottom of my heart 🥰
