There are people you admire for their work. And then there are people you admire even more for who they are.

Matin Maulawizada is one of those rare people.

For over 30 years, he’s worked with some of the most recognizable faces in the world, from Angelina Jolie to Claire Danes and Jessica Chastain. But his artistry is only a small part of what makes him extraordinary.

A molecular biologist by training, Matin was championing "clean" and non-toxic beauty and beauty standards and the importance of healthy skin long before they became industry conversations.

Raised alongside six sisters, he’s a feminist at heart. A vocal advocate for women, a champion of independent, female-founded brands, and someone who has used his influence to prop up and create opportunities for others.

There’s a soulfulness to Matin. In an industry so focused on appearances, he’s always stood for something deeper.

He was one of Motif’s earliest believers, and we’re incredibly proud to call him a friend.

And now, we’re bringing our shared philosophy of healthy skin and beautiful makeup to life together.

Something very special is coming. Stay tuned.

Okay, we need to talk about this bench.

Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel have similar versions of this look for $1,000 or more... this one is $118 at Walmart!

Plush velvet in the prettiest muted gray-green, the pretties legs and base with all the high-end details, and it comes in two sizes. The price honestly cannot be beat.
