The best paint pours are often totally unplanned. “Happy accidents”. I’ve become a broken record on this topic, because time and time again, my last-resort pour gives me something super-unique. And the process is SO opposite how I normally create.

I refuse to end the night without SOMETHING that doesn’t waste paint, a canvas, and/or my time. So after some fails, usually when the sun is threatening to pop up and surprise me, I push myself into crazy mode. I’m immediately relaxed, but also adrenalized. Here’s the gist…

🫗I quickly layer a cup without planning colors.
🫗I blindly pick a random canvas.
🫗 I pour quick and crazy.
🫗I try new designs, I spin silly-fast, and I don’t take time thinking about that tilt or final composition, I just do it. Fast, before I can overthink.

I call these CRAZY-CUP POURS. And for me, they work. I’ve never scraped, poured over, or regretted a crazy-cup pour. I love the results.

This 👈🏽 crazy one may not be for everyone, and that’s OK! For me, it was a great success, and that’s what it symbolizes for me. It tells me I can overcome challenges/fails by DOING instead of OVERTHINKING. This painting reminds me to get out of my damn head.

I wish I could be spontaneous more often. I’m trying… I’m a work in progress 🥴
