To get the new year off to a great start we did a New Year Big Day on January 1st, visiting our local patches and recording as many bird species as possible.
.
The 19 of us who took part saw a fantastic total of 144 birds!! It was a lovely way to start the year, birding in our local areas and getting our year lists off to a flying start.
.
Some of were: Waxwing, Iceland Gull, Yellow-browed Warbler, Dipper, Long-tailed Duck and Kingfisher (and of course Long-tailed Tit
