Compassion Camp 2021 was a success! It was a privilege being able to lead these kids. We learned about how being compassionate to everyone can change the world and how we can show lovingkindness to everyone. The kids also collected 500 rolls of toilet paper to be put into the little food pantry.

He argues that when people point to immigrant educational and economic success while repeating negative stereotypes about Black Americans, they’re ignoring a major part of the conversation.

Dave raises questions about immigration selection, the size of the Black American middle class, and the historical experiences that shaped different communities.

Then he delivers one of the most powerful lines from the interview:

**“If you can’t talk about how your ancestors fled, you don’t get to talk about how my ancestors bled.”**

Is comparing successful immigrant populations to stereotypes about Black Americans an unfair comparison?

And can we acknowledge different historical experiences without turning the conversation into a competition?
