It's 11 November, which means it is Sint-Maarten in parts of the Netherlands! Sint-Maarten is celebrated in several parts of the Netherlands but the traditions vary between provinces. In North Holland, Utrecht, Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland children go door to door singing songs for candy; kinda like Halloween but without costumes but with beautiful lights. In the south of the Netherlands it is celebrated less often because 11/11 is also the start of Carnival. It is sometimes celebrated with huge bonfires though!
