✨THE BEGINNING & THE BEATS✨
💐this map of African Nova Scotian settlements has been a starting point for me for many things. and a grounding point to root down in💐
✨all the actors and major players in this project have been and will be African Nova Scotian identified. that feels really important to me. that we curate the experience of telling our own stories✨
💐you’ll hear in the background of this post a track. that track was made by @she.nubian - the point of having music alongside the text we were working on was to provide the actors with a vibe, a different entry point, another way to access the the story. again, there are all these nuances of theatre and acting, all of these tools. but how do you know what you don’t know? @she.nubian aka Kordeena Clayton is an African Nova Scotian Kalinago multi disciplinary artist. our journey together is what inspired the script. she has had eyes on this project from the early days💐
