Teresa Apollo

Caroline usually sleeps on the park grass that is down the street from my house, but since the weather has been cold and rainy she has moved to the sidewalks. She is 64 years old and has been homeless for over 15 years.

We had a lovely conversation about this precious human life. She shared about her time in college, her concerns about losing her 90 year old mother, and the one time she was “almost pregnant.”

She said something that I will never forget, she said, “Yeah, you just got to be grateful that you are alive. I’m grateful that I can walk.”
