EDGE OUTDOORS™

Juneteenth is a powerful day of remembrance and celebration, marking an important milestone in the fight for freedom and equality in the United States. However, this commemoration also serves as a poignant reminder of the work that still needs to be done to combat systemic racism and promote true equity for all people.

One of the most glaring areas of inequality is the persistent wage gap between Black women and their white counterparts. It's a shocking reality that Black women have to work an additional 225 days each year just to earn the same amount as their white male peers. This is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed on a large scale.

Moreover, Black Americans continue to face significant challenges in areas like housing, healthcare, and overall quality of life. Many organizations are working tirelessly to address disparities, including EDGE Outdoors, which focuses on empowering and uplifting Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color through outdoor education and adventure. Unfortunately, Black-led non-profits often struggle to receive the grant funding they need to make a meaningful impact. In fact, only 1-2% of Black-founded and led organizations receive grant funding, which highlights the ongoing systemic barriers that exist to truly equitable distribution of resources.

In light of these challenges, this Juneteenth is an opportunity to take action & support organizations like EDGE Outdoors that are working to create positive change. By making a charitable donation, you can help support our vital mission & vision for a world where Black Americans have access to the same opportunities and resources as everyone else.
