The StreamINK prompt today is Familiar, selected by @manicpixelbeangirl. This piece was inspired by the song "Into the Unknown," the main theme to the Over the Garden Wall miniseries. The soundtrack is by The Blasting Company and this song also features singer Jack Jones.
Anyone who has been following me for a while knows I'm a huge OTGW fan - I've been watching it at least once every year since it came out, and this is the 10 year anniversary! It feels perfect for Familiar, since I can remember the immediate sense of nostalgia the first time I watched & heard the opening song. It feels just like home to me - the perfect New England autumn.
Lyrics:

---

Led through the mist
By the milk-light of the moon
All that was lost is revealed
Our long bygone burdens
Mere echoes of the spring
But where have we come?
And where shall we end?
If dreams can't come true
Then why not pretend?

How the gentle wind
Beckons through the leaves
As autumn colors fall
Dancing in a swirl
Of golden memories
The loveliest lies of all
