Where do I even begin...
I didn't grow up in church. I grew up a very curious, driven & free minded person. Where most people saw religion as a source to bring people together, I saw it as something that tore people apart. With wars, rich vs poor, religion vs religion... I saw it as control, a great story created to manipulate the masses.
As I went through the valleys and mountains of life, I strived to be the best I could possibly be. I tried to be perfect, and time & time again, I fell short. I engulfed myself in personal development and weeded out my weakness with every failure I encountered. I worked on the physical, mental, and eventually emotional aspects of my life. Even then, I felt like my physical and mental pillars were full, but my emotional was cut in half. I felt unstable. Like a table trying to stand on 2 and a half legs.
Over and over, I tried to build the house of my life on pure will and ambition. But worry, anxiety, and uncertainty plagued my heart.
Even with my ignorant and stubborn self, God pursued me, just waiting for me to open my eyes. Watching me fall and always picking me back up. Like a father watching his toddler constantly trip over toys in the house, following him to pick him up off the floor. From people, opportunities, circumstances, and even animals, he sent things to guide me without me even knowing or acknowledging him.
I don't deserve it, but I've privately and now publicly accepted Jesus into my heart and all the blessings & hardships that come with it.
It's just the start, but the peace and calm I've experienced in these past few months is hard to articulate. Genuine relationships with my family, certainty that everything will be okay, even the enjoyment of reading 😅. Just to name a few.
Thank you to all that came and everyone who has reached out with memories, praise, and those seeking advice & testimony.
I'm beyond blessed 🙏✝️
