Officially 1 year!
.
It doesn't seem like it's been a year since I tore my achilles, but the calendar says it has been.
.
A lot has changed, and I've grown through it all. Even though it was a roll coaster, it all happened for a reason
.
Someone once told me that you only become a patient person by being forced to be patient, and boy did this last year force me to be patient
.
If you've ever torn your achilles, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's an injury like no other. And my personal hardest injury I've had to overcome
.
Your achilles are the largest and strongest tendons in your body, so it takes a ton of force to rupture
.
1 other thing I learned is how much the soleus (the muscle that your achilles attaches to the bottom of your foot) contributes to your metabolism (BMR). Because it's an anti gravity muscle that helps to hold you up right against gravity, it's ALWAYS on.
.
Besides being inactive and having muscle atrophy from the cast & boot, not having a huge contributor to my metabolism quickly became obvious
.
Tearing my achilles challenged me in ways I didn't expect. And I'm still nowhere near 100%
.
But with that, it brought me closer to some amazing people who shared this same struggle a long the way
.
2023 was the worst and best year of my life for so many reasons. But the progress gives me hope to keep going
.
So if you're going through this right now yourself, I promise, it gets better. Some sooner than others, but I can tell you from someone that it took longer than normal for, it will taken in O2 Fitness by @jkrum42

Where do I even begin...

I didn't grow up in church. I grew up a very curious, driven & free minded person. Where most people saw religion as a source to bring people together, I saw it as something that tore people apart. With wars, rich vs poor, religion vs religion... I saw it as control, a great story created to manipulate the masses.

As I went through the valleys and mountains of life, I strived to be the best I could possibly be. I tried to be perfect, and time & time again, I fell short. I engulfed myself in personal development and weeded out my weakness with every failure I encountered. I worked on the physical, mental, and eventually emotional aspects of my life. Even then, I felt like my physical and mental pillars were full, but my emotional was cut in half. I felt unstable. Like a table trying to stand on 2 and a half legs.

Over and over, I tried to build the house of my life on pure will and ambition. But worry, anxiety, and uncertainty plagued my heart.

Even with my ignorant and stubborn self, God pursued me, just waiting for me to open my eyes. Watching me fall and always picking me back up. Like a father watching his toddler constantly trip over toys in the house, following him to pick him up off the floor. From people, opportunities, circumstances, and even animals, he sent things to guide me without me even knowing or acknowledging him.

I don't deserve it, but I've privately and now publicly accepted Jesus into my heart and all the blessings & hardships that come with it.

It's just the start, but the peace and calm I've experienced in these past few months is hard to articulate. Genuine relationships with my family, certainty that everything will be okay, even the enjoyment of reading 😅. Just to name a few.

Thank you to all that came and everyone who has reached out with memories, praise, and those seeking advice & testimony.
I'm beyond blessed 🙏✝️

Action builds confidence!

Take so much action that it would be unreasonable for you not to succeed.

I've had enough success in my life to know, if I lost it all, I can do it again.
And I've had enough failure in my life to know I can handle it.

Leg Day with a squad that pushes you and encourages you.

Built in the grind, sharpened by each other. A team that shows up, competes, and refuses to settle for average.

Separate We're Weak, Together We're Strong 🖐🏼✊🏼

2025 is difficult to put into words
.
But I'm going to try my best to articulate this strange and blissful roller coaster of a year
.
I've been blessed to travel more than I have in, close to a decade. And if you know me, my heart stays on the road 24/7
.
I've sacrificed, what would look like to the outside world, independence and financial rewards to pay off mistakes of my past
.
I've been given more connection with family, and God has brought some amazing, supportive, and fun-loving people into my life
.
I've wrestled with God, over sins of my past. Lust, Pride, Ego, Expectations, things I've not only struggled with but things I've tried to control my entire life with my Will alone
.
To bundle this year into a single word...
Blessed
.
The blessing of family, travel, purpose, growth, sacrifice, and acceptance. Becoming a better man through life lessons, shortcomings, and the beautiful world & talents God has given me
.
2025 has been a dream,
But it's only chapter 1,
These next few years of my life are going to be something I couldn't even dream of
.
Thank you to all those who made my 2025 worth the sacrifice 🙏 by @jkrum42

One of the biggest lessons I've learned in recent years is; "hold no expectation of others, only yourself."
.
I care deeply and wear my emotions on my sleeve. Regulating those emotions has always been a maze to me and in a lot of cases, it's a strength. Ambition, passion, but many times it's a curse. Sharing everything and I mean everything with the world around you, I always viewed it as full transparency but I recently came across a quote, "All things that are said should be true, but not all true things should be said". This has held a lot of weight in my heart and something I'm working on
.
Over the years I've held expectations of others based on how I would go about something or how I'd treat someone
.
So in short, to anyone that I've hurt or lashed out against, from the bottom of my heart I apologize. I hope that you can come to understand that it came from a place of love (because I cared so much) even if the delivery was poor.
.
"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
The courage to change the things that I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference"
.
In my mission to impact people, I've always leaned on "The courage to change the things that I can" and because of that, I haven't always gone about certain relationships the best way.
.
So now I lean (learning to lean) on "Serenity & Wisdom". We'll keep going and growing 🙏

I've had enough success in my life to know I can do it again.
And I've had enough failure in my life to know I can handle it
.
Life is a funny thing, a duality where we strive for independence & success but crave connection & purpose
.
Saying goodbye to someone, watching God close a door. To then turn around and watch a warehouse bay open with even larger opportunities than you thought possible.
.
The ebbs and flows of life, mountains and valleys, bliss & joy, depression & anxiety. All those things carry the weight you give them. Some may be fuel, some may be resistance but at the end of the day, there can only be one result
.
