New work: The Kia EV3
When the Kia Academy team asked us to create a ‘discovery’ video for the new all-electric EV3, we faced a unique challenge: at the time of production (earlier this year) it was under embargo and couldn’t be moved from their UK HQ.
Our solution was to lean in to the location, mixing live action and 3D animation to deconstruct the EV3 to bring its story to life, highlighting its key features and design.
We created an Augmented Reality 1:1 scale version of the EV3, allowing us to plan our camera and lighting setups at Kia HQ in advance. Following a successful shoot, our final challenge was to blend the live-action footage and 3D to create a seamless edit.
This is a short extract from a longer cut, which is screening on the Kia Academy, and featured at the recent Kia Masterclass at Silverstone.
All creative, production, and post-production work for this project was completed in-house, with guidance and support from product experts @motiv8_international throughout.
