I decided to focus this assignment on my grandpa, William “Bill” Beeman, or as I call him, Papa. He is a retired dairy farmer that spends most of his time out in his shop tinkering and fixing things. He was a farmer most of my life and a lot of his things still show that. I thought his items could tell a compelling story and most importantly tell you about him as a person. He grew up in the house that he currently lives in with my grandma, when his father decided to retire he took over the family farm and worked it until only a few years ago when he retired. Not only was he a full time farmer, but he was also the Chairman and President of DairyLea which he then led through a merger with DFA (Dairy Farmers of America), the current largest dairy cooperative in the US. He has done some incredible things in his lifetime but he still lives a normal life like the rest of us. This may just be a small snapshot into his life, but my grandpa is the kindest, humblest, and most generous person I know, and I am proud to be his granddaughter.
