Food Art Project January Challenge - (sorry, long caption ahead ⚠️) 

Since the #FoodArtBlankCanvasProject is about our personal connection to color, I felt very compelled to go with an extremely vibrant and daring palette 🎨 as opposed my usual comfort zone in a more muted esthetic. You might argue that the color I chose is not the color of the food that I made my hero, but for my deep love of orange egg yolks, I decided to go almost monochrome on everything surrounding it. This is sure to complement it and make it shine!

Eggs and soldiers are the earliest memory of eating with my Grandmother when I was a child. But the toast was often burnt and never buttered. 😅 Today I make my own soft Shokupan loaf using my starter #Babymanus - son/daughter of Longimanus from my bread Yoda @diverbaker (you can see some of his amazing bread in the background of some shots, too) - because I like to cut my soldiers thick and butter them even thicker. 🤤😋 

When I first explored the aquatic color palette, I had started with a study on the Sherwin Williams Meadowbrook color. What exactly is it? A turquoise? A teal? An aquarium? Or a combination of all of the above? This eventually lead me to Sherwin Williams Aqua! Which I knew whispered something to me the moment I laid my eyes on it. 🩵💚💙

Recreating the set of my Blue Breakfast almost 15 months after the first shoot, was quite intense and a bit nerve-wracking. Will I be able to make a seamless and cohesive photo and video set out of the old and the new footage? Will they look similar? Can I relight it the same way I did so long ago? Will I achieve the same color output to complete my photo, carousel and Reel trio for this challenge? These were all questions that kept me up all night.
