On Monday, January 20, after 36 hours of labor and an unplanned C-section, our little masterpiece, Robert C. Bolden III, entered this world with a force and vigor that could have only come from God himself.

A week later, I still don’t have the words to fully recount this experience. What I can say is that it was the most intense, beautiful, intimate, humbling test of faith I’ve ever endured. God’s presence was felt on a whole new level. His life-giving power was felt through every weighty breath & contraction. His love was felt through my husband’s unyielding gentleness & patience. His peace & reassurance were felt through the encouragement of our supportive family, the most amazing doula (@ifitzu2), and our incredible doctor (@obdoc) & medical team. In the midst of it all, we prayed. We worshipped. We cried. We endured.

And God delivered.

What a wonder it is to be used as His vessel to bring forth new life into this world. What an honor it is to be graced with the responsibility to steward over this precious gift He has given us. What a blessing it is to reflect, serve, and glorify Him in such a miraculous way.

We are overjoyed to embark on this beautiful new journey of parenthood. Thank you, Father, for entrusting us with yet another opportunity to carry out Your perfect will on Earth, as it is in Heaven (Genesis 1:28).
