‘you are exactly who you think you are’
diptych, oil on canvas each 18x24”
•
fuck new instagram aspect ratio. might repost one on one so it could actually be seen as a full inage
•
this diptych explores the idea of perception, particularly how our perspective is influenced by how we choose to view the world around us. The phrase ‘you are exactly who you think you are’ technically means nothing at all, neither a positive or negative connotation, yet each person defines it in a unique way based off of personal context. This painting could also mean nothing. Both of these paintings depict the same subjects, colour palette, and ornament, yet one can be identified as dystopia while the other as utopia. (assignment theme was Utopia/Dystopia)
