a year agoRunner can be behind 3rd what's pitcher going to do throw down to 2nd or even 3rd? Runner on 3 just has to run n go home Runner behind can pickle or run through all legal....
a year agoI get that the skunk runner in the OF was just trying to bait a tag. Personally, as an ump, the moment the pitcher steps off and runs at the runner on 3rd, Iโm calling the runner in the OF out. This is bush league stuff
a year agoRunners establish the baseline. So theoretically the runner could have run to the outfield while โattempting to steal a baseโ and lined himself up behind the base. Since he is off the bag the pitcher could step off and try to pick him off as he returns to second base, but in the meantime the 3rd base runner could break for home. So most likely they ignored him and waited to see the result of the pitch. Once in play the runner reestablishes the baseline when he touches 3rd and continues home without penalty.

a year agoLove how everyone is freaking out about how no one could notice this guy, and no one has stopped to consider that everyone knows heโs there but doesnโt gaf cuz thereโs 2 outs and the tie is on 3rd. He can stand wherever he wants to and itโll never matter, unless you chase him which is what he wants.
a year agoThis must have been after a timeout by the defense. The runner from second went to the third baseline while the coached talked to the runner at third. You do not need to retouch the base after a timeout.
