free books in this economy? It’s a no brainer! I love the concept of this event @dopereaders.club 🧡 I love that the books were majority from black authors because we love to support black authors over here!

the pilgrimage that I did to get there was so worth it! (Side note why is there always train suspensions in this London!!)
Was so good go see some bookish friends inna real life! @readby.vivian @__thebookspace @kikisreadss @lindee_reads 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Here’s to hoping I get through lots of reads before the next one so l can go and exchange for something new!

Lalaine Garcia moved from the Philippines to Britain hoping to build a new life with her husband, whom she'd met online. Instead, she tells her story of being subjected to violence, coercive control and sexual exploitation. Garcia's account exposes the dark side of the online “mail-order bride” industry, which disproportionately targets Asian women with promises of marriage and a better life abroad. Julie Bindel investigates how matchmaking websites exploit loopholes in the law, and why women are still being left vulnerable. Read Garcia's full story via the link in our bio, including how she escaped and rebuilt her life afterwards. *Names in the carousel and story have been changed
Civil rights activist Shaun King is facing online scrutiny after social media users began circulating s*xual a$$ault allegations involving his son, Ezekiel King, and the Morehouse College community in Atlanta. Several online posts have named Ezekiel, reportedly 20, accusing him of alleged s*xual misconduct involving individuals connected to the historically Black college. However, the accusations remain unverified, and no publicly confirmed evidence establishes that Ezekiel committed s*xual a$$ault. It remains unclear whether formal complaints have been filed, whether Morehouse officials are investigating, or whether law enforcement has become involved. Shaun King, known for his racial justice activism, previously attended Morehouse, where he served as student government president and received an Oprah Winfrey scholarship. The college maintains Title IX procedures for addressing s*xual misconduct complaints. Neither Shaun King, Ezekiel, nor Morehouse College has issued a verified public response to these specific allegations. The claims remain unsubstantiated.

Which one is your favorite?🖤 Follow @zcdiacbabe for more zodiac related facts, memes and reels - - Fun fact: Your body is far more intelligent than most people give it credit for. Right now, without any conscious effort from you, trillions of cells are communicating, repairing damage, fighting potential infections, regulating hormones, balancing fluids, and producing energy. Every second, millions of red blood cells travel through an enormous network of blood vessels delivering oxygen to tissues that need it most. Your immune system is constantly identifying threats, your liver is filtering substances from your blood, and your brain is processing an astonishing amount of information from the environment. What's remarkable is that most of this happens completely outside your awareness. We often think of health as something we actively create, but much of staying alive depends on countless automatic processes working together in extraordinary harmony. The human body isn't simply a collection of organs—it's one of the most complex self-sustaining systems known to exist, performing billions of tasks every day just to keep you functioning. 🩺✨
