I am deeply unsettled by the treatment of migrants in this country, both documented and undocumented. My heritage means a lot to me, and the liberty and prospect granted by the states to my family and I have been invaluable over the years. However as times goes on, that liberty seems more akin to perception and facade than actual reality. I am aggressively afraid for my immigrant brothers and sisters, and cannot stand to see them criminalized to the degree that is broadcasted in real time every day. Like many of you, I often feel helpless and desensitized to social issues these days; it seems history won’t give us a break. But I encourage all of you to press on, and keep fighting for the change you want to see— for the society you want to uphold.
I stand in perpetual light and love with my fellow aliens.
