This crazy zinnia was so lovely to paint! I have always shied away from yellows because I was once told they are difficult to paint cleanly… so that got into my head. Well, I loved this zinnia and all of her “quirkiness” that I decided to paint her and after several hours of detailed drawing…. I realized “shoot, look at all of those yellows and oranges… now what”. 😩

I used the Artist Assit App to help me figure out the perfect colors and instead of stressing out about the correct colors… I just got to painting! Now, I LOVE yellow and oranges!
(One of these days I’ll brave it up and do some green leaves…. Been told leaves are impossible…. So you don’t see any leaves in any of my paintings!). I think I need to stop letting other people’s stressors add to my own! #botanicalart #watercolorart #floweroftheday #johnnysseeds #zinnialove #zinnias #flowerart #floralartist
