This historic Leyton pub has been given a new lease of life, reborn under the team at Exale Brewing. The space has kept its soul intact: the grand bar and original fireplaces, while the buzz feels distinctly modern - part old-school boozer, part lively neighbourhood hangout.
We went down for a Sunday pizza and pint, and felt right at home. The team are warm and welcoming, and it’s nice to see a place that’s evolved without losing its pub authenticity. The Exale crew have nailed the balance - fresh pints, perfectly paired with Short Road’s pizzas. It’s the kind of pub you settle into for hours - a pint, a few slices, maybe a game on in the background.

Fantastic kids policy... tbh, it shouldn't need to be said that kids should sit down and not run about, climb and shout in a pub... and (shock I know) be supervised by their parents at all time. Parents who think otherwise need to find somewhere else to drink.

This was one of the OG craft/micro brewpubs back when this all started. Name of the brewery escapes me now. Looks like you've curated another amazing space, congratulations!
