🫶🏼on the day we all got news that the incomparable Jane Goodall had peacefully passed in her sleep, i was away traveling & was visiting the famous biltmore gardens in NC. this beautiful butterfly there took me away for awhile in it all.
her tattered golden amber wings, glowing in the sunlight🔆🧡,, with the tiny thread of a spider web blowing off the tip of her wing, like a flag to the heavens 🥹🧡well..🥲it was almost more beauty & gratitude than my heart could bare in that moment 🥹🫶🏼🪽💛🙏🏼
it was hard to take it all in honestly, the love & beauty, the flowers, trees, butterflies& bumblebees & all the emotions i was feeling about her passing.
She made such an impact on my life, on ALL of ours,, in ways some may not even realize it. she moved us all forward!

a lifelong hero of mine. i remember learning when i was young, in some nature magazine i read, that i shared a birth day with her,& how that somehow, as a young girl, made me feel even more connected to her in some tiny way. she was such a role model in every sense to me.
& also probably just simply because i was so in love with animals & nature too🥹

We will forever be connected to her in our own ways, will benefit & learn from her endless curiosity & care, wonder & bravery & brilliance🥹🙏🏼She was truly a gift to the whole world🫶🏼
In her memory & in her honor, i hope i can, hope we ALL can, love & push a little bit harder to help preserve& restore, cherish & be caring stewards of our magical earth for future generations, & give our own voice to help protect all the animal, plant, tree, bird, insect, all species we share this magical planet with🙏🏼🕯️🌍🦧🦋🐝🐒🐢🦉🦢🦧🐤💓💓💓
