i had better luck this year with my #dahlias & #zinnias than i ever have before. i have no idea why, except maybe my sheer willing& wishing them into blooming more😅🌺 i decided to make this #faceted #ruby ring to honor the very last one, which was my favorite color of all of them this year 🥰,,& which lasted wayyy into october, which seemed like my own kind of #flowerfairy miracle ♥️🩷🧚‍♀️
it’s so cold now at night up here but gorgeous warm sunny days & somehow i still have today other flowers still holding on & blooming🌞i was wondering this morning if maybe they’re having their own secret contest with the trees to see who can hold onto their colors the longest🫶🏼🍁☺️i’m feeling enormously blessed to get to witness any & all of it🫶🏼🧚‍♀️♥️🍃🍂🌞🍁🌻🍂🥀🫶🏼

💛i know it’s October & it’s pumpkin season, but i wanted to share here some of the incredible flowers &plants i got to see on my recent trip to NC at the biltmore gardens in #asheville ,,what a beautiful state&city🫶🏼🌲💚i had such an amazing time visiting NC&SC for my first time💛
it’s been a year now since that horrible hurricane brought so much devastation there, it felt good getting to support, even in a tiny way, some of the amazing artists& restaurants & places we got to see.
how resilient & strong people can be when working together to restore& rebuild & care for one another🙏🏼💛🫶🏼
i brought along this #turquoise ring i had recently finished & it fit right in there with the #blooms & the #butterflies🦋🌺🩵🪻🌿🌼
soo often in life we are called to hold both happy loving joyful times & memories, along with profound grief & loss& heartbreak from tragedies.
it can feel unbearable at times to hold it all, to find balance,, yet we can, & we do, somehow🫶🏼🙏🏼💔❤️‍🩹

i’m sending love & healing out here in my own town too& to all of us that are heartbroken& devastated for the losses we have shared here recently🙏🏼💔🫶🏼 i’m holding everyone close in my heart🙏🏼❤️‍🩹
we will heal together eventually too, i believe, & i am so deeply grateful for my own circle& family of friends & loved ones near& far🙏🏼💛🫶🏼✨✨those lost in this life are never forgotten🙏🏼🕯️✨they live on forever in our hearts& our joyful loving memories of them💛🙏🏼❤️‍🩹

🫶🏼on the day we all got news that the incomparable Jane Goodall had peacefully passed in her sleep, i was away traveling & was visiting the famous biltmore gardens in NC. this beautiful butterfly there took me away for awhile in it all.
her tattered golden amber wings, glowing in the sunlight🔆🧡,, with the tiny thread of a spider web blowing off the tip of her wing, like a flag to the heavens 🥹🧡well..🥲it was almost more beauty & gratitude than my heart could bare in that moment 🥹🫶🏼🪽💛🙏🏼
it was hard to take it all in honestly, the love & beauty, the flowers, trees, butterflies& bumblebees & all the emotions i was feeling about her passing.
She made such an impact on my life, on ALL of ours,, in ways some may not even realize it. she moved us all forward!

a lifelong hero of mine. i remember learning when i was young, in some nature magazine i read, that i shared a birth day with her,& how that somehow, as a young girl, made me feel even more connected to her in some tiny way. she was such a role model in every sense to me.
& also probably just simply because i was so in love with animals & nature too🥹

We will forever be connected to her in our own ways, will benefit & learn from her endless curiosity & care, wonder & bravery & brilliance🥹🙏🏼She was truly a gift to the whole world🫶🏼
In her memory & in her honor, i hope i can, hope we ALL can, love & push a little bit harder to help preserve& restore, cherish & be caring stewards of our magical earth for future generations, & give our own voice to help protect all the animal, plant, tree, bird, insect, all species we share this magical planet with🙏🏼🕯️🌍🦧🦋🐝🐒🐢🦉🦢🦧🐤💓💓💓
i know i’m sure going to try harder🥹🙏🏼every little bit can help💓

hi everybody💚🌸🧚#happysummer ! we’re finally getting some nice rains& thunderstorms up here in the mountains after a super dry hot summer, so everything is feeling & smelling so fresh& amazing again🌧️🌈☀️🥰🌿💕
i realized I have not made an actual post ALL year😬🫠!( soo not sure if anyone will even see this one now, as i,ve heard instagram really doesn’t like that lol 😅🫠),, but i still hope everyone has been having a beautiful summer wherever you are☺️🦋🦋🦋!

🍂🌞🤎happy #wintersolstice to everyone!✨ i wish i knew who carved this incredible piece of #labradorite but i purchased this stone at a gem show & don’t know it’s full origin. it really glows & changes colors in all these different shadows& light, & was a fun one to try & choose #gemstones to bring out its natural chatoyancy & shimmer✨ i kept the metalwork & beadwork fairly simple because its such a dazzler on its own! decided later to make the small lotus charm beneath it as a another flash of color💎✨
🌞today was a gorgeous day today, as you can see! it’s been in the 50’s here in SW #colorado , sunny bluebird skies💙beautiful days, chilly nights, so i guess autumn is giving us one of her long lingering good-byes again🍂💛 we really need some huge snowstorms to hit❄️☃️, but its not looking like it’ll be a very white Christmas this year🎄🌟
i hope everyone has a peaceful holiday season, with time for reflection, rest, renewal& lots of love🙏🏼💙🌟✨

this spot felt like it had winter, fall & summer all resting together🍂💚🍁❄️🍂🌲💚❄️maybe the local hobbits played a roll in me finding this mossy stump for this #turquoisering to hang out at☺️🧙‍♂️🧝🏽‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧝🏽‍♂️(with help of the wind & the morning frost ☺️✨).
the bright green moss seemed to match this #turquoise stone perfectly & reminded me that something beautiful is always growing somewhere, even when there are cold dark shadows lurking around💚💙🩵🌲sending #coloradolove out to everyone🏔️💙✨

soakin in all this wild warm weather while i still can☀️flowers still bloomin’, which is pretty crazy at over 8,000+ feet here🧚🦋✨they look so beautiful against the bright yellow aspens& the orange/brown oaks🧡💛💚#coloradofall is always a gift. i know weather will shift & the flowers will soon be gone as the nights get colder & colder. sure am grateful for it all☀️🌲🍃🌺💛🍁🌙🧚✨!

this is a flower pendant i made quite awhile ago that i really just didn’t like when it was done. i had made so many wrong turns in my sawing🫠& i felt like a runaway freight train trying to carve the lines on the petals with my flexshaft😅🤪( i still do😂), but after seeing it again& again in my recycle pile, it slowly started to grow on me so i finally made it into a necklace🌸✨
i’m already making a new flower to replace this one (just because the #rhodolitegarnet & #cubiczirconia beads are too pretty not to🩷), but it still felt like it deserved some #glamourshots in my flowers today😅☺️🌺☀️🌸🪻💫

we’ve been enormously blessed by our weather here in the #southwest , summer like days still& beautiful fall evenings. i am so grateful for it, always🙏🏼, but feeling especially so after seeing the horrendous destruction caused by the hurricane & weather in the southern states💔the footage in NC we’ve seen is so shocking 😰& i know i’m like everyone else in feeling absolutely heartbroken for all the unfathomable devastation & suffering of so many people& animals & the land there💔 our hearts& prayers& thoughts are with you ALL& we’re with you in spirit & strength 🙏🏼💪🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 Nikki of @soul.fulloflight is a local there & has been adding great resources to help in her instastories ,for people both near & far to help out how they can🙏🏼🫶🏼🙌🏼!!

it’s like my gardens know every year when summer is drifting to a close & they burst out new blooms left& right☀️🌸🌻🥰I love it💕
here are my begonias& zinnias today with some of their prettiest colors all year (so far☺️🌻🤞🏼).
i made a lot of flower pieces this summer but wasn’t good (yet again) about getting pix of them all😬😅but here are some flower earrings i did capture,, i plan to keep on making them year round because they are so fun to create🌸

found this abandoned bird nest blown down from the trees, so thought i’d fill it with some #turquoiserings since the previous lil eggs have long since hatched& birdies flown☺️🪺🐣🪽💙
i realized it highlites my never ending stone/color obsession (rut?😬) that i can never seem to break free from 😅(& have no intention of trying lol )
i will forever love every shade of #turquoise but these lighter stones always seem to draw me in🥰🩵💙
