✨AUCTION✨ This auction starts July 15th at 10am PST and ends July 19th AT 10am PST. Please see the story highlights titled “BIDDING” & “PAYMENTS” before placing your bid.

Artist: @mountaindovedesigns .

I wanted my piece to reflect Hope for this special auction I’m so honored to be a part of. I drew inspiration for my design from the many moving and inspiring writings of Martin Luther King, Jr. in “A Testament of Hope”. The etched quote on the back of the piece is an excerpt from his “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. The gemstone I was drawn to use from the beginning was this beautiful piece of amazonite. I didn’t realize it at the time, but researching some of its properties, I found out that it has long been considered the “Stone of Hope”, as well as a gemstone for courage, truth, and dreams.

The beads in the necklace are amazonite, turquoise, apatite and chrysocolla, as well as sterling and Thai silver. For the pendant I used sterling and fine silver to encase the amazonite stone. The necklace is about 18” long, I could add an extender chain to the clasp, if desired, so it could be worn longer. Thanks so much for considering my piece💙

Question for all those super amazing #metalsmiths out there. Since I’m such a rookie newb!

I’m having a hard time deciding how to embellish this beautiful Royston Turquoise Ring. I have string large bead as well as small bead. But I like the idea of throwing gold beads in there. I don’t have much, if any, pure gold to melt. But I do have gold filled. The balls you see in the second photo are gold filled. They are crusty and show some coppery tones. My question is, after polishing them up, will they come back to the gold shine? And stay pretty? What do you use?
My second question is, I have 3 pure gold balls I can use. If I mix them with the two different sized sterling balls, which pattern is your favorite (in the drawings). Band shown May or May not go with this ring.
