I'M BACK FROM SHANGHAI GUYS!!! AND OH MY GOD THESE PICS???? 😭😭❤️ Basically I was out in the rain when all of a sudden a woman approached us asking if I wanna take pics in a Hanfu and I said YESSSS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS She took me to some building, I got sat down, got my hair done, Makeup done and put into a Hanfu and then we went out in the rain to take pictures and oh my goddddd!!!! I look so different when someone else does my Makeup LMFAO and honestly to a degree, this was 'too much' for me? But I still don't hate this look and feel like I can learn so much from it for Cosplay!! So excited to hear what you guys think 🤭 I also love that they edited my hair cause my hair color at that point was a purple-red but their hair extensions were black and I do think it looks better this way. And god during the photoshoot, so many people stared and took pics and ahhh I felt like a princess 😭 I didn't want to book a Hanfu photoshoot because I didn't think I would look good in chinese traditional clothing but now I'm so glad I did it cause I am in love with the results 😭 So glad this spontaneous opportunity came up 🥹🥹❤️ In general I have so much more pics to come soon 🤭 And yes I will release a set of this, too! #hanfugirl #hanfu #cosplaygirl #shanghai
Ava DuVernay is questioning Hollywood’s future while revealing that her latest documentary helped her navigate a deeply emotional period. During a Screen Talk at the BFI London Film Festival on Monday, October 12, the acclaimed filmmaker spoke candidly about the entertainment industry’s shake-up and the personal toll of making Netflix’s “14th.” “Hollywood is over,” DuVernay declared. “Did you guys hear? It’s done. They’re buying each other, they’re collapsing. It’s all changed. They’re selling studio lots. The idea of going to Sundance and getting a three-picture deal from Harvey Weinstein? He’s in prison.” Rather than waiting for major studios, she encouraged filmmakers to explore crowdfunding and direct financial support from audiences. “This is what we’re going back to,” she said, highlighting smaller investments and alternative distribution routes. DuVernay also addressed her political documentary, which examines the Fourteenth Amendment and connects its history to the Trump administration’s efforts to restrict birthright citizenship. She described the film as exploring “how we got to a place where MAGA can be in power.” “This film saved me in a lot of ways. … The rage that I feel and the fear that I feel, I was really being able to pour it into *14th* every day. I only finished the film two weeks ago, and so I really don’t know what I’m going to do from here.” “History is the key,” she said, recalling the resilience of previous generations as a reason to remain hopeful despite current fears and growing political uncertainty across the country. Do you agree with Ava?
