A stranger walked right in my front door about ten years ago. The house looked empty; it was for sale. He walked in, and my dogs, even the little one, cornered him in the front hall. He didn’t make it past the entryway before slipping back out the door. It’s so violating. I don’t know what I would have done without my dogs. I keep at least two big dogs at all times partly for this reason.
