Filler straight on bare metal… here we go. I’m using a direct-to-metal body filler system on the R32’s quarters before spraying Evercoat Super Build to lock it in, then prepping the rest of the shell for epoxy. Some people swear this is wrong, others have done it for decades, where do you stand? #R32GTR #GTRby30 #BodyFiller #BareMetal #SuperBuild #PrepBeforePaint #Bodywork #CarRestoration #JDM

That evercoat super build shrinks too much. If you can afford it, buy some Dura tech or Glasurit or Standox shit. That evercoat will shrink on you. I've left pucks of duratech high build in the bottom of a cup for a couple years and it hasn't even seperated from the side of the cup. Not one MM of shrinkage in a puck that's 2" thick

If after the straightening stage, it must be within the week, you sand everything clean from p180-p320, apply a 2 component etching primer like Standox U3100 in 2 closed thin coats, let it cure for at least 2 hrs and then apply primer, the adhesion and corrosion protection is many times higher than epoxy. Been using etching primers for over 20yrs and still get builds back for touch ups and regular drives and not 1 has any issues whatsoever. Both systems work, with and without epoxy, we use both depending on open times, it is all in the correct application of products
