We recently lost a beloved member of our family 💔 We noticed Katie in our backyard around spring of 2019. She was feral and quite shy. She seemed hungry, so we would put food out for her. At first she wouldn’t eat if she could see us. Over the months she slowly warmed up to us, but kept a hard edge to her, ready to fight back at any sign of a threat. When it got cold we bought her a little house and a heated pad that we microwaved twice a day. She was fed and had shelter.
She would watch us and the other cats from her little house on our deck. A curious cat.
Eventually she crafted a little hole in our screen door, and would come and go as she pleased. This started her gradual transition to being an indoor cat.
After a while she was spending most of the time indoors with us.
Katie was such a unique and special cat. Very petite, but big in personality. She was a loud snorer, would grunt when woken up, a lover of all dairy products, and grew into a very affectionate little cat. Rest easy Katie. You’ll always hold a special place in our hearts🖤
