I've been dealing with pretty rough tendonitis in my left shoulder for months now. It took me time to realize it was something not going away on its own, then getting in with ortho, then waiting another month to get in to see a physical therapy. Of course, I thought PT would be a magic fix, but it has not. I've made profess, but still have a lot of pain after a month of visits.

This has made it my worst year of knitting by far. I've barely finished anything and have several WIPs just sadly staring at me from across the room. Hopefully I can get back to it in another month or so.

I did sign up for the @tempestryproject before all this went down and I managed to get everything knit and blocked before the end of the year, but I will need assistance with the ends. This is the year 1930 and this project going to have 130 years of consistent temperature data collected at the Mohonk Mountain House.

I am so proud to have been involved in this project and I am so excited to see the finished display of all the knitted items. Hopefully the display will help educate a lot of people while also displaying so many talented knitters.

OMG. Val. So sorry about the shoulder but your knitting is fabulous. PT may help, but it takes time. Think about how long you’ve been dealing with your shoulder pain and then you’ll know how much more PT will be needed. I highly recommend Carson Demers book Knitting Comfortably. He’s in the field too,and a knitter

Such a great project. I hope your pain goes away, it is no fun at all. Just remember to be kind to yourself and take the time to heal so you can get back to everything you love and enjoy.

We hear you! I’m dealing with elbow issues this fall, but my partner Asy says she’d be happy to weave in your ends. Can you return it to your library with a note referencing this exchange? We’ll be picking up another batches of finished MHLS Tempestries from the library system office in mid January. Thank you so much for participating in this collection. ❤️
