At this point, we all know I support aesthetic goals.
I support fat loss.
That journey was the beginning of me taking control of my own life and shedding old identities that kept me stuck in a victim mindset.
However… we are NOT going backwards.
Not to telling women a size 6 is “obese”
(yes, I’m looking at you Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants).
Not to pretending a size 2 is the “fat” cheerleader
(Bring It On, you knew better).
And absolutely not to little girls chanting
“a moment on the lips, forever on the hips”
when they can’t even confidently tell you what they love
about themselves.
So chase your goals.
Seriously, fck yeah, I’m rooting for you
But do it the right way.
The healthy way.
The way that honors the little version of you who still remembers the first time she compared her body to another girl…
the first time she wondered if it was “okay” to eat that snack…
the first time she thought her worth was conditional.
Do it right for the girl who put her body through hell just to feel accepted.
Just to fit in.
Just to feel “enough.”
You can reach your goals and love your body.
You can pursue change without disrespecting her.
Let this time be different.
