Frozen pink lemonade sweats down the sides of glass pitchers, leaving sugar-citrus kisses on your tongue—a bright, chilled punctuation to the morning’s ritual of green tea, whose quiet perfume drifts from the kitchen, steam curling above a lived-in mug smudged with yesterday’s lipstick.

Hot, sticky summer days—bare feet pressed into warm grass, the world soft beneath you. Sprinklers tick and turn, their rhythm stitched together with distant giggles. Time seems to flicker faster in that kind of light, as if the sun itself urges you to gather every bright second in your hands before it slips away. Chalk dust clings to your fingertips, pastel crumbs hiding beneath your nails—little proofs of afternoons spent drawing worlds on the sidewalk.

You listen for the familiar call from the back screen door, but you don’t go in. Not yet. Not until the streetlights hum awake and spill their glow like a reminder that even summer has its limits.
