I find myself incredibly lucky to have visited India for my third time. It is not lost on me that most people never even get there. But here I am enjoying the craziness, chaos and beauty of this country. And this time I got to enjoy it with my dear friends who happened to be here at the same time we popped in on tour. A viral video out of Baltimore has social media users doing double takes after a young child was caught on camera getting into an intense verbal argument with a dollar store employee, leaving everyone nearby stunned. Throughout the now widely shared clip, the child can be heard repeatedly using explicit language while aggressively confronting the employee, even yelling the now-viral phrase, “Fuq is yew tryin 2 dew?!” The employee appears to remain engaged in the exchange as bystanders watch the unexpected confrontation unfold, with several people laughing in disbelief while others express concern over the child’s behavior. Since hitting social media, the video has spread across multiple platforms, racking up thousands of reactions, shares, and comments from viewers debating everything from parenting and discipline to the influence of social media and the environment children are exposed to. While many users admitted they couldn’t stop replaying the clip because of how shocking and surreal the interaction was, others argued the moment highlights a much bigger conversation about youth behavior in public settings.
