In this challenge, we set out to shine a spotlight on our community’s treasured water people, and Doug Bard is one of them! A welcoming presence and a familiar, friendly face in the lineup (especially in the winter) is so sacred to the spirit and culture of our surf community; in and out of the water, Doug has become our unofficial, local ambassador for kindness.

As the front man of @the_wave_tape, Doug uses his platform as a vehicle for goodness. Whether he is volunteering his time, or donating a portion of his @the_wave_tape sales to organizations like @surfershealing , @fulfill_nj , @marysplacebythesea - Doug is an ocean-inspired inventor, a dedicated family man, a consistent surfer and a relentless giver.
