14 days agoMy whole life has been a burn out.. and it’s hard to get back on track without losing my motivation to get back up and moving forward again
3 months agoI call it my funk. I get stuck in it and don’t know how to get out of it once I’m already in too deep. I’m kinda in a bit of a funk now actually. It’s hard when life throws so much at you, you take it on and then don’t even realize how much you’re depleting your whole self. Mines been emotionally. I hope I get out soon.
6 months agoTake it day by day. Do things that give you energy, or joy. Periodically (re)accept that burn-out recovery is a slow proces, and be understanding and gentle towards yourself. Pro-actively look for daily wins, however small they might seem, and write them down. Take care ❤️.
6 months agoUnfortunately, I am not dealing with burn out in a healthy way. I have one more year before I graduate with a double major for my undergrad. it’s going to be so busy. I don’t know how I’m going to survive. I am a high functioning burnt out person. So my advice is to keep going. But that may not work for everybody. I definitely respect those people who are able to stop and do something different right away. I hope to be doing something different and more life-giving in the future.
6 months agoMe replying one week late. I’ve been on vacation from work and social media mostly too. I wanted to say that when I start to experience any sort of burnout I take the signs and run with them. So if I start to get the slightest cold, I make myself rest. If work gets to much, I make sure I have rest time at home and less go go go outside of work, it usually helps me recover. Same with getting out hiking, I could be having a very rough week at work working crazy hours, completely burnt out. But I get out for a hike and the fresh air, sunshine, and exercise is like meditation for me and resets me.
6 months agoIt’s important we dismantle the guilt that comes with slowing down. We’re programmed to think productivity looks fast-paced, but I’m learning it’s in the slow mornings and quiet walks where I’m doing my best ‘work’
6 months agoLots and lots of patience with yourself. Self-recrimination does not help. Also don’t rush because this thing has waves and when you think you’re out… maybe you’re not. But i’m ok now. I think the biggest thing, and sounds like you’ve already got there, is realising that it’s not a matter of pausing for a rest before continuing on the same route. It’s a direction change. You’re shedding the old to make room for the new, that’s why it’s exhausting and hard. You got this though.
6 months agoI’m glad you’re okay 🫶 Burnout can be very difficult. What helps me is doing something outside of my routine that is productive to benefit myself.
