💗 Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, a day to hold close in our hearts all the babies who are gone too soon and the families who carry their love with them every day. The photo I’m sharing is from one of the moments when we learned we had lost a pregnancy we had hoped and prayed for through our surrogacy journey. It was a heartbreaking moment in a journey that was already filled with so much hope, love, and longing to become parents. Our path to parenthood included multiple miscarriages and losses that changed us forever. As a neonatologist, I have cared for the tiniest, most fragile patients and witnessed the incredible strength of families navigating the unimaginable. As a mom, I know the profound love we have for our children. And as a friend to so many moms who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, I know that grief can stay with us long after the world moves on. Every journey to parenthood is different, and every loss carries its own heartbreak. Today, I am thinking of the parents who have held their babies in their arms and those who carry them in their hearts. The parents who share their stories openly and those who grieve quietly. The families who are still trying to find their way forward while carrying the memory of the little ones they will never forget. 💗 Your baby matters. Your grief matters. Your love matters. May we continue to create space for these stories, support one another without judgment, and remember that we never know the heartbreak someone may be carrying. To every parent remembering a precious little life today, please know you are not alone.
