Dreams do come true ๐
This young boy dreamed of living the life I live today. Graduating college and fulfilling the aspirations had for him, marked by life sacrifices his mom has made since first leaving her home. Walking across the stage and in front of his family and hundreds of people with makeup on and wearing clothes that made him feel beautiful. Not just a degree but a display of courage in the midst of adversity, fear, and uncertainty. The first to rise, but not the last to shine. Today, this boy continues to be โthe firstโ. The first to experience, the first to decide, and the first to have. And as he continue to be the first, he knows those walking through the door behind him are ready to catch him if he fall and cheer him on louder each time.
To my family and chosen family, thank you for all that you have poured into me. This moment is as much as mine as it is yours <3
