this was such a well thought out dark urban fantasy series with complex characters, detailed politics, family drama and insane fight scenes.

i think the most memorable part of this series was by far the characters, they felt so incredibly real! i loved the kauls so much and i thought ayt mada was such a brilliantly written antagonist 🙂‍↕️

i unfortunately didn’t love this series as much as other people tho as i found the political parts of it to be so tedious and some parts of the books were so slow i had to stop reading as i was so bored 🫣 but that’s definitely just a me problem, it’s not the actual book series fault at all

i still do think this series is absolutely worth a read, i’d just say to expect lots and lots of politics before going in as i didn’t realise there was going to be quite so much beforehand. it’s also extremely dark (none of the main characters are safe, ever 😀) i still definitely recommend reading it for the incredible characters and complex family drama tho!
