the moth reborn by samantha shannon 🦋🌌

thank you so much to @bloomsburypublishing for letting me read an e-arc of this book early!! i’m so grateful 😭🫶

‼️ this review contains some out of context spoilers ‼️

❝ once for life. once for a crown. once to bring the tower down. ❞

this book was just insane. it was somehow heartbreaking yet healing at the same time?! i absolutely loved the scenes between paige and arcturus in this book, especially as their relationship has grown so much throughout the series 🥹

i was also very satisfied to have a lot of my questions about rephs & clairvoyance answered in this book, i loved getting to learn more about the ranthen and their culture as it’s so fascinating to me! learning more about paige’s family was so bittersweet as well 🥲

overall, this was an incredible addition to the bone season series and i’m left excited but also absolutely terrified for the last instalment! 🫠🫣

i would say more but i wanted to keep this review as spoiler-free as possible, if anyone else has read this book early pls feel free to message me about it!! by @emilyreadsfantasy

the bone season series appreciation post 🥀🔮

hi everyone! i thought i’d do a little appreciation post for the bone season series since it’s officially 13 years old today!! 🥳

i read this series for the first time last autumn and it was just incredible. the characters, the setting, the themes… this series truly has everything i love in fantasy books, i still can’t believe i found something so perfect for my reading taste ✨ paige and arcturus are two of my favourite characters of all time, they’re just such beautiful and well-written protagonists 🥹

if you haven’t read this series yet, please please please pick it up!! it’s still so painfully underrated and i desperately want more people to discover it 😓 by @emilyreadsfantasy

the green bone saga by fonda lee 💚⚔️

❝ the clan is my blood, and the pillar is its master. on my honor, my life, and my jade. ❞

this was such a well thought out dark urban fantasy series with complex characters, detailed politics, family drama and insane fight scenes.

i think the most memorable part of this series was by far the characters, they felt so incredibly real! i loved the kauls so much and i thought ayt mada was such a brilliantly written antagonist 🙂‍↕️

i unfortunately didn’t love this series as much as other people tho as i found the political parts of it to be so tedious and some parts of the books were so slow i had to stop reading as i was so bored 🫣 but that’s definitely just a me problem, it’s not the actual book series fault at all

i still do think this series is absolutely worth a read, i’d just say to expect lots and lots of politics before going in as i didn’t realise there was going to be quite so much beforehand. it’s also extremely dark (none of the main characters are safe, ever 😀) i still definitely recommend reading it for the incredible characters and complex family drama tho! by @emilyreadsfantasy

also here’s a friendly reminder to go read this book if you haven’t already! i don’t think i’ll ever stop thinking about it 🥹 by @emilyreadsfantasy

the shades of magic series by v.e. schwab appreciation post 🗡️🩸

i realised i haven’t yet done a post for the shades of magic trilogy (+ the spin off called the fragile threads of power) so here it is!

it’s such a unique series that is set in a world with four parallel (historical inspired) londons with amazing characters and an intriguing magic system. i’d say in terms of the city setting it’s definitely reminiscent of six of crows and the bone season so if you like those books, you should definitely give this series a try!

is anyone else desperate for any news about the sequel to the fragile threads of power?! i need to know what happens next!! 😭

i’m also very ashamed to say that these are the only v.e. schwab books i’ve read so i definitely need to read more 🙂‍↕️ i’ve always been intrigued by vicious so if anyone’s read it pls lmk what you thought! by @emilyreadsfantasy

💭 which hardback design is your favourite?
i love all of them but i’d say among the burning flowers (middle) is my fav!

i had to make a post showing the hardback designs in this set as they’re so beautiful! i especially love how they all have details that link to things in the books ✨ by @emilyreadsfantasy
