In Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag, I was sitting at a juice corner when I heard a bird chirping. Looking around, I noticed a cup-shaped mud nest in a corner with a barn swallow chick calling continuously. Barn swallows are summer visitors to the Himalayas, especially the Lesser Himalaya and Shivaliks. They arrive around March–April, breed through the summer, and leave with the onset of the monsoon.
