From my long-term project "Somos Afromexicanas"
Started in 2021, this project portrays the strength, pride, and resilience of Afro-Mexican women in the Costa Chica of Oaxaca, home to the largest Afro-descendant population in Mexico. Long marginalized, they were officially recognized only in 2019. This work is a tribute to them.

Gracias a todas esas mujeres y amigas costeñas por dejarme hacer ese proyecto.
