The Jury of Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion Who gets to shape the images we see? Who challenges the way we look at the world? And who dares to imagine it differently? For this year’s Global Open Call, we’ve brought together an extraordinary jury from across fashion, photography, art, and visual culture. Voices that challenge conventions, question established narratives, and open up new ways of seeing. Today, we’re introducing Olivia Anani (@outrenoirs). A curator, writer, and art market expert, Olivia Anani works across contemporary art and international cultural institutions, with a particular interest in how art is valued, interpreted, and placed within a global context. Her work has brought greater attention to African modern and contemporary artists within the international art market, challenging established hierarchies of visibility and recognition. Her perspective on who gets seen, whose work enters the cultural canon, and how artistic value is defined makes her a compelling voice for Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion. We’re delighted to have her on this year’s jury. Stay with us as we introduce the voices helping to shape this year’s selection. by @photovogue

For this year’s Global Open Call, we’ve brought together an extraordinary jury from across fashion, photography, art, and visual culture. Voices that challenge conventions, question established narratives, and open up new ways of seeing. Today, we’re introducing Kira Pollack (@kirapollack). A creative director and photo editor, Kira Pollack has spent her career exploring how images shape the stories we tell and the way we understand the world. From rethinking visual storytelling at TIME and Vanity Fair to her current research into the role of artificial intelligence in preserving photographic archives, she continues to question how images are created, understood, and remembered. Her interest in the evolving relationship between photography and technology brings a vital perspective to Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion, where new ways of seeing also mean rethinking how images shape our collective imagination. For this year’s Global Open Call, we’ve brought together an extraordinary jury from across fashion, photography, art, and visual culture. Voices that challenge conventions, question established narratives, and open up new ways of seeing. Today, we’re introducing Nicole R. Fleetwood (@nifleetwood). A writer, curator, and professor at New York University, Nicole R. Fleetwood explores how images shape our understanding of race, power, and history. Through her writing and curatorial work, she brings attention to perspectives often excluded from dominant cultural narratives, examining how art can challenge established ways of seeing and make room for other accounts of history. Her commitment to questioning whose stories are told, and how they enter public view, resonates deeply with Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion. We’re thrilled to have her on this year’s jury.
